Four Pees showcases the latest innovations in print and publishing at drupa 2012

Ghent, 29 March 2012 - Four Pees, a Belgian-based international business partner providing marketing, sales and distribution services for the print and publishing industry, announces their presence from 3 till 16 May at drupa 2012, in Düsseldorf, Germany. Joined by axaio software and Twixl media, all the latest and greatest innovations in print and publishing will be showcased in hall 7a, booth 13D.

Four Pees is pleased to announce their presence at drupa 2012, the international trade fair for prepress, premedia, printing and publishing. Four Pees, axaio software and Twixl media, will be launching new products at drupa and demonstrating their product portfolio.

Innovations in Publishing

axaio software – intelligent efficiency

axaio software, a Berlin based company specialized in automating, standardizing and streamlining print output, PDF creation and content correction workflows for Adobe InDesign, InCopy, Illustrator and QuarkXPress environments will announce its new MadeToTag software, an Adobe InDesign plugin for preparing InDesign documents for tagged PDF – reliable and easy. Of course, axaio will also showcase their flagship product, MadeToPrint, with its latest new features. MadeToPrint is a plug-in for Adobe InDesign, Illustrator or InCopy and an XTension for QuarkXPress, that automates print output processes to one or more targets as well as the export to different file formats – based on hotfolder mechanism or in conjunction with Adobe InDesign Server.
Furthermore axaio software will present MadeToCompare, the solution for bulletproof change and version management for Adobe InCopy based editorial environments as well as  MadeForLayers, a plug-in for InDesign and Illustrator that helps streamlining and simplifying the creation and editing of complex documents based on layer views.

Twixl Publisher – Innovating tablet content distribution

As the iPad is changing the game of publishing, e-commerce and advertising it is important that publishers take this digital evolution seriously and start to look for opportunities in the digital publishing business.
Twixl Publisher is a digital publishing solution that takes projects from InDesign to iPad. Specifically, it is a combination of a standalone (Mac OS X) application and a plug-in for Adobe InDesign CS5 or 5.5 that converts and exports traditionally created documents into interactive reader applications for the iPad.

Twixl Publisher makes it possible to integrate different types of interactive content in your InDesign documents, and then convert them to an iPad app. Some of the interactive elements that you can add are slide shows of photos, audio or video clips, scrollable content, panoramas, 360° views, HTML5 animations and more.

Twixl Publisher provides a workflow where ease of use is key. The product can be used for a great variety of sectors and application domains. Magazines and books are obvious applications, but Twixl Publisher can also be used for sales presentations, annual reports, newsletters, brand magazines, manuals, brochures, data sheets and more.

A specific market is Enterprise publishing. For many companies, in-house publishing and hosting content externally might cause issues. Twixl media will present its Enterprise Kiosk solution in world premiere at drupa, for 100% independent in-house digital publishing.

Innovations in Print

Atomyx – official launch of Atomyx Portal and Atomyx Automation

At drupa, Four Pees will introduce Atomyx Portal, an out-of-the-box job submission and quality control portal solution, based on proven callas software’s pdfToolbox preflight and correction technology. It streamlines file submission including additional metadata, quality control and verification against product properties setup by the printer or publisher.

callas software – handling complex PDF challenges

Today callas pdfToolbox is the easiest yet most powerful PDF preflight and correction application on the market. Problem files can be fixed during preflight or with a click of the button in the Switchboard. Flattening transparency, converting fonts to outlines, inserting trim and bleed boxes to match printer marks, converting office documents or even PostScript files directly into PDF, comparing versions of PDF files and visualizing ink coverage. pdfToolbox Server allows to automate all these actions and fully integrate them into any automation or webportal solution. At drupa, callas pdfToolbox 6 will be launched.

The new callas pdfaPilot version 3 brings full support for the new PDF/A-3 standard, expected to be released later in 2012, making it possible to archive the original document (such as Word, Excel, XML…) inside the PDF/A file. Integration with Microsoft SharePoint facilitates the creation of PDF/A files in larger office environments. Guaranteed PDF/A conversion utilizes advanced processing methods to convert virtually any PDF file to PDF/A. For high-volume environments, pdfaPilot Server can now be installed as a Windows service and load balancing between different pdfaPilot Servers instantly enables unlimited processing power.

PrintFactory  – Beyond a RIP, a complete LFP workflow

PrintFactory is the most complete production solution for large format printing. It can print jobs as they are being processed, driving over 600 different printing, cutting and CTS devices. PrintFactory not only increases productivity and operator flexibility, it also allows to produce more efficiently. drupa comPRESSed conference

Four Pees has organized a compressed conference about Innovations in Print & Publishing that will take place on the drupa fairgrounds on Tuesday 8 May from 10.00 till 12.30 in CCD South, room 7a. The press conference will be hosted by axaio software, Four Pees and Twixl media, where journalists will be introduced to the latest and newest and still to come products for the print & publishing industry.
